J Style carriers and Hobie PA14

#1 Post by Ke00 » Sun Feb 04, 2018 2:20 am

Hi everyone,

I was wondering if anyone has used J Style Carriers to transport a Hobie PA14?

I have a small boat trailer and I was wondering how 2 x Hobie PA14 would go on a trailer, using two sets of J Style Carriers?

I'm just not sure how strong the side of the PA14 would be to support the weight of the kayak. So I thought I'd ask if anyone has (or is) using J Style Carriers for PA14, best ask before I try something I might regret later

Thanks in advance for any replies.

Hey Ke00

It might be an idea to contact your local Hobie shop - I'd be surprised if the J style Carriers would support the PAs without busting!! Last thing you'd want is both of them falling of whilst you are driving on the highway!!

Some people have the 2 yaks side by side on a trailer .... some use poly pipe to 'line them up' - others use the Hobie 'hull shaped' supports .....

Good luck!
