Welcome to 2019 - All Dates set! New competitions planned!

Hi Midcoasters,

Welcome to the Midcoast Kayak Fishing Club, 2019 Edition!

We’ve made a bit of a change to things this year, and are also introducing some friendly competitions.
Our goal is to encourage better attendances at Social Outings, and more participation on the forum.

The biggest change is that we have a Midcoast Kayak Fishing Club 2019 Calendar.
We hope that in giving more notice, people can plan to make events.
We have also set the venues for these events, and in doing so have tried to mix it up so we don’t hit the same place twice.

At each event, we will have a friendly little competition. There is a target species set for each Outing, with bragging rights going to member catching the biggest.

This leads into a couple of larger competitions, the first being the Midcoast Kayak Fishing Club Social Angler of the Year.
At each outing, points will be awarded for attending (3pts), catching the target species (1pt), catching the biggest target species (1pt) and posting a report (1pt).
Points from all 2019 Social Outings will be tallied at the end of our December event and the Social Angler of the Year declared.

“But I don’t live close, and won’t be able to make many events!?” I hear you cry…
...this is where our second competition, the Midcoast Kayak Fishing Club Master Angler of the Year comes in.
This winner of this competition will be the member with the largest aggregate length of your best three fish over 5 bread and butter species.
These can be caught at anytime and any location.

Please stay tuned for full details and rules for our two exciting new competitions. Should have them posted up by the end of today.
Regards,
PF
