a matter of ethics when fishing

went for a morning fish at Lake illawarra, The place was reasonably quiet. Except for a darn jet ski that kept going back and forwards across the main channel from the lake to the bridge. every time I moved it would catch up to me. In the end, I waved him down and spoke to the driver. He works for r...

Re: ESTUARY REPORT AFTER STORMS

yep, and knowing the speed of the fresh on top is travelling faster than the salt underneath. You could use a bulky Bobbie cork on top to pull a soft plastic in the slower flowing water below. this works on outgoing tides only. But it allows you to anchor up, and cover a large area.

Re: ESTUARY REPORT AFTER STORMS

Good to see someone got the idea free willy, to share knowledge is to gain knowledge. here is some more, in floods, the freshwater floats on top of the salt as it is less dense, so when the top of the water still looks discoloured from the fresh it can be just the top layer of water. remember water ...

LOCATION OF SOME GOOD WEED

Going to go after some Luderick, but a lot of the usual green weed areas have died off due to the rain of late. Anyone out there know of any good greenweed , spots around, south of Sydney north of wolllongong.
No! it's not for smoking, just to catch fish.

Re: lake illawarra today.

All this talking of skinning fish reminded me of a funny situation that occurred when I was about 40 years younger. I had caught a bunch of nice leather jackets, so when I got home. I gave some to the neighbours, a nice pommy family just off the boat. The next day they told me that the fish was a di...

Re: lake illawarra today.

yep I like a feed of fish to, but I must say bream is not my favourite eat, I would say my prefered table fish would go flathead, snapper, jewie, trout, sand mullet. That's a nice plate of fish free willy, but no chips. As you fish the lake as a regular, what would be your favourite table fish from ...

made it down to the lake at about 8:15, launched on the north side just east of the bridge. very quiet only one other vehicle in the car park, could have something to do with the temperature of 14c with a stiff breeze from the south-west. I experimented today in a way of cutting cost on burley, saw ...
