Re: Hinze Dam Advice

I really wish we had've waited an extra hour and followed you around Ray. Hard going for Liam and I as you can see from the trip report.

By the way what is a Tandan? Never heard of them before.

Cheers

Hinze Dam 1/1/16

Well things have certainly changed since I was last on Hinze Dam. With a higher wall the banks are now almost completely lined by flooded timber. I remember I used to be able to cruise along near the banks and troll merrily away but now if I want to do that I am in about 10 to 15mtrs of water where ...

Re: Hinze Dam Advice

Thanks for the tips. The western ramp is closest for me and will be hitting it at about 4:30am hoping that the wind is calmer at that time. I have lures and soft plastics Ray but will be willing to give some shrimp a go. By the sounds of your catches lately they are the way to go. Liam and I will be...

Re: Hinze Dam Advice

Thanks for the advice Dodge. Hadn't considered the wind. I better have a look at the forecast and make a decision based on that. Didn't think wind would be a problem there but now I know.

Hinze Dam Advice

My son Liam has asked about fishing freshwater for our next trip. He has not caught a Bass yet and I was thinking Hinze Dam would be a good spot to try again. I have not been there in 5yrs and would like some advice as to the best launch spot and which way we might go. No need to divulge your secret...

Even after the early start and hiding from the rain under bridges instead of fishing I would not have traded it for anything.

Gold Coast Canals

The sound of rain at 3am is not what you want to hear first thing in the morning as the alarm wakes you for a very early start but at least it reminded me that I had not packed the rain jackets. Liam and I were about to set off to a place I had been before with the launch spot being a boat ramp abou...

Re: Colleges Crossing 22/11

Not a bad stretch of water eh? Next time try hitting the snags, some of the biggest silver bass I've ever caught! Thanks for the tip! Definitely will be going back to try some different techniques now that I know what the area looks like after the big floods from a few years ago. Want to try a bit ...
