Re: My first big bass

Great fish mate! They put a real fight in that sort of country. As other shave said.. beware the Bass addiction.. I love chasing them and get so disappointed by all the big Bream that I seem to get as bycatch! I have always wondered what Bass tastes like.. I might have to find out very soon!! Congra...

Re: Brisbane river Bass and/or Bullshark trip

hahahaha no worries about the stalking!! anyway.. when you hear something strike on the surface and you spin around to hurl a lure their way, it would be more productive with the right choice of offering.. hard to catch a Bass on a lure of a similar size.. probably too distracting targeting 2 comple...

Re: 1st bass of the season 2016/17

Great report mate! The other day I went on a Bass mission only to find dozens of BIG eels in the creek that normally holds plenty of Bass, I guess they are just another part of a healthy waterway etc but they are such a nuisance on light Bass gear... I've found that if there are big eels around, the...

Re: From parking the car to paddling the yak. How quick are

I fish pretty light (no sounder, 1 rod, 2 tackle boxes of lures, a leatherman multi-tool, leader, couple of bits and pieces and water) as a general rule and take only the time from roof rack to water to get going. If I'm going offshore then I take a sounder, radio, safety gear etc so that cam take a...

come and paddle a reload on Saturday at Jindalee. If you don't like it at least it eliminates one of your choices. They are very different kayaks

Brisbane Urban Bass

image.jpg G'day all, On Friday (yesterday) I decided to go and catch some Bass in a local creek. For anyone that's read any of my posts or come out fishing with me will attest to, I'm pretty parochial about The Mighty Brisbane River, so it was that I set out pretty close to home to catch one of my ...

Re: Wobbly kayak

the Tempo 2 is a massive beast of a kayak that is closer to a boat, pretty much everything except a Hobie PA 14 is going to seem like a wobbly thing. As it's been said before, go out somewhere safe and capsize it, you will be surprised at how hard it is to do
