Midcoast Kayak Fishing Club has a New Home

Hi Midcoasters, With a small active member base and ongoing issues with KFDU, we have made the decision to migrate to our own website. We believe this is the way forward, with everything under our control. Please join us at https://midcoastkayakfishers.com/ Jump on the forum and register... If possi...

The State of KFDU

G'Day all,

Looks like KFDU is up and running again... for now.
Will it stay up? Who knows. Unfortunately I can't give you any answers. I have no idea what's going on.

Unfortunately, this will be one of my last posts. While I love KFDU, I've had a gut full, and will no longer be moderating.

Yes, I'm a 'Green' moderator but I have no contact with the "Red Admin" people.
All I can do on here is moderate posts, delete problem users... I can't add new members.

Leper 'the last standing Red Admin', tried his hardest to keep this place alive, and at the time asked me if I'd moderate.
I was more than happy to help.

Site was never updated and security issues started last year, and Leper, with no help from the site owners had enough.

That left me. While not posting alot, I had been keeping an eye on the site until it went down a few weeks ago.

Since then, I've created a new site for my club, the Midcoasters, and we will be operating from there.

But before I go, I need to address this! I let it go when I first saw it, but not now. Pardon my french

Shame that none of you guys are willing to spend a few minutes a day to moderate or delete offensive posts.
The last new account activated was in June, Mite be time to appoint some one else to to take on the job of account activation or Close the site.
Mate, I know its frustrating, and while I can't speak for admin, I'm *%#%^& offended!

1. T.J, there are no reported spam or offensive posts listed in the moderation queue? If it offended you why didn't you report it!
2. As a 'Moderator', I'm not 'Admin' and can't activate new members
3. I can't appoint new moderators.
4. I can't close the site. I reckon I'd be real popular if I did!

Can I ask what you have done to contribute apart from winge?

I joined KFDU, probably like you because I love kayak fishing.
I joined a KFDU club to get involved with others. If none available, did you think to start your own?
I've posted oodles of trip reports and helped others
I stepped up when the my local club needed a new coordinator.
I stepped up when KFDU needed a moderator.
When KFDU died, I didn't blame everyone else, I set up a new website for my club.

When you get off your arse and *%#%^& do something for yourself, then you can name and shame me!

Apologies to others reading this.

Regards,
PF

Re: Midcoast Social Outing - May 12 - Swansea Van Park

Speak up if you plan to attend, because at this stage we are considering cancelling the outing.
I didn't take Mothers Day into account when I planned the year out.

Knees and I will still be wetting a line somewhere on Sunday morning, regardless.

Cheers,
PF

Midcoast Social Outing - May 12 - Swansea Van Park

Hi Midcoasters, Launching from the carpark around behind Swansea Van Park, early am. (Around 6 for me). Target species for Social Angler of the Year will be Squid, and I'll post the unique number on the Saturday night around 6:30pm. Instead of a point for the largest squid, the point will be given f...

Re: Reel for wicked weasel

I have a first gen wicked weasel, and I shortened the butt. I like Daiwa rods in that general price range (vs Shimano) but not a fan of the reels. I run 3 or 4 different 2500 size Shimano reels on mine.. Sustain, Stradics, or a Rarenium... This video taken throwing cicadas at Lake St Clair has it cl...

Re: Social Outing - 7th April 2019 - Chain Valley Bay - Reports

Hey Guys, Thanks to all those that turned up! I arrived to find Ageboy almost ready to roll, and watched him head out. By the time I was ready Reg had turned up, and after a quick greeting I headed out. My plan was to flick some surface lures in the shallow early, then head out to a deep area on the...

Okie Dokie, THANKYOU SO MUCH FOR ALL THE CAMPERS THAT CAME AND PUT UP WITH THE FRICKEN MOZZIES! Apart from that it was a great weekend! Re: Merimbula Pt 2 including “I Bought a New Yak!!!”

You are kidding me... More quality fish! And new ride! I upgraded from my Outback (still have it) because of the seat to a PA12, and since then they have fixed that issue now and then some! Thinking Hobie will discontinue the PA12 (been told from someone that should know). Hope our paths will cross ...
