If you have a freckle or mole or wart and it doesn't sit well...

I'm a fair skinned European but lived all my life in NZ and Australia. In my much younger years i was always outside in shorts, often no shoes or shirt nor singlet nor hat. In my teens we would compete to see who could brown the most in the sun. About 6 odd years ago i had a dark mole on my neck, ge...

Mast base slides in on a dovetailed block. This entails first fitting a small block on the deck with 2 SS screws which connects to the under deck support arm.

This pic shows a reinforcing patch which is supplied with the sail kit. It has an adhesive backing and sticks to the hull.
I used a heat gun to warm it slightly for good adhesion

tmp_16160-20160319_074206-240x320-1576652328.jpg Yesterday had free some time with cooler weather so fitted the mast base to kayak. Ive taken some detailed photos of how it went. Surprisingly simple job. This is the mast base, one piece sits below deck, the other above deck. The below deck item act...

Re: Sailing rig

Will post some pics shortly. I went with Falcon sails as after lots of reading and looking at kayak sailing videos thought they were a superior item, especially upwind. Just my observation, maybe Falcon just did a better sales presentation. Im an old engineering tradie and building things out ...

Re: Sailing rig

I recently bought 2 Falcon sails from USA. They have arrived in Australia but still sitting with the freight Co.
Polycarbon mast, rigging, a 1m2 sail and a 1.3m2 sail.
I'm fitting it to a Percetion 13.5 Tribe SOT tandem kayak.
Not gonna use leeboards or a rudder
Wasnt cheap but. :smart:
