Re: Hobie Quest 13 + Trailer - Awesome Adventure/Fishing Pac

That's a great package and price after what you did to it. Good luck with the kids and boat. I love my quest and highly recommend it if anyone here is looking at getting into yakking or wants a good all purpose kayak for offshore, bays, rivers or freshwater. They go really fast and are very stable a...

Re: Long weekend Scarborough

I have noticed with all the southerlies in the last 5-6 weeks that all the fish and bait schools seem to have moved up to the north near before where the spit drops off on the point at North reef maybe 200-400 metres before it. In saying that, I did catch a few just off the northern-most rock wall o...

Re: Darwin is there any yak fishing?

Pretty much most of the creeks and inlets up there around Darwin have lizards in them. The open areas of the harbour are the best and safest to fish, however there are still crocs out there sometimes too. I haven't fished out of a yak there before but if I were to, I'd probably go off the main point...

Re: White Spot Disease SE QLD

Yep very true. Sometimes I really wonder what this government and past Qld ones have as an agenda here. Last week it took them 4 days to publicise the massive toxic waste spill after it was reported to them by the airport in the Brisbane river and surrounds to the public... http://www.couriermail.co...

Re: Crab Pots

Been wondering the same thing. Do you bring your pots in and then take them ashore to sort through or do you do it on your yak? If you take crabs ashore, if there are genies or undersized ones is it bad to release them on shore like 300-500m from where you pulled them up or do you take them back out...

Damn that's a fantastic deal but you only just bought it and finished doing it all up from your post a couple of weeks ago? What happened, did you decide kayak fishing is not for,you or,something?

Re: Another foray into the Paddock, Forster - name this fish

Surprised to see this as I caught the exact same species a couple of weeks ago (always catch Moses Perch but this is different) and was wondering what it was. Thanks.

Long weekend Scarborough

It's been a real rare few days here weather wise, particularly with low winds making the last 3 days over the long weekend fishable from a kayak all day. This is the first time in months I've seen one day like this, let alone 3 in a row. Hence it was also the first time almost ever I think I have ov...

Re: Shark attacks kayak Woody Point

I also heard from one of the offshore kayak fishos that works with a guy that was in the group when it happened and he said they were an outrigger canoe group If that was the case, why didn't they assist :?: The media seems to have made a mess of this whole thing as always. If there were 9 other gu...

Re: Shark attacks kayak Woody Point

This is where media gets the Qld news that involved Police (and from similar Police media release websites in other States). http://mypolice.qld.gov.au/ As is becoming all too common, all media does is cut and paste the part they want and maybe change a few words. Here's the original story the Cour...

Re: Shark attacks kayak Woody Point

Also it says he was pulled out yesterday arvo. The winds were around 40km/h yesterday which is very very rough for the bay - I wonder what the heck they were doing paddling all the way to Mud Island for in those sort of winds - that is pretty dangerous on its own.

Shark attacks kayak Woody Point

Thought this might have been posted already - but doesn't look like it. http://www.couriermail.com.au/news/queensland/brisbane-shark-attack-shark-bites-hole-in-mans-kayak/news-story/866d7325b4a408d6831fc0946f15a5e2 Looks like he took a big chomp off the front of that yak. I fish pretty close to here...
