Re: Tingalpa Creek/Wellington Point

Dan, If the tide is up to the mangroves you can fish in tight as there's normally bream chasing baitfish there... I've also had success when the tide was out and the bream were chasing baitfish tight against the sandbank on a little gutter. Just drift around that general area as long as you're not o...

Re: Tingalpa Creek/Wellington Point

Hi Dan, Get yourself a R2s Bubblepop 35 or px45 and drift the shallows on the Eastern side of King Island and back towards the ramp. When I say shallows, I'm referring to less than 2m of water and as shallow as 30cm. Just bloop the above lures back in a slow start stop manner and I guarantee you'll ...

Sikaflex works well... I originally tried silicon but it doesn't seem to 'stick' as well to the yak. The sikaflex has been in place for over 3 years without issues.

Re: Yak fishing South East Queensland Part 1 & 2

Good report Roberta. I'm surprised you did that well in the Broadwater.. On weekends it turns into a kayaker's nightmare with jetskis, jetboats, ski boats, Bertram luxury palaces and all other manner of water craft hitting the water. Same with CIW... except this time is all the teenagers hooning aro...

Nice report Sel.

Interesting to note that Fitzy isn't using baitcasters when fishing off the yak.

Re: Cracked the metre!

Wow.. what an awesome capture. Full credit to you to land such a huge fish on light line.

Kudos to your lovely wife as well who not only came down to celebrate and take pics but also allowed you to put the fish on ice in the tub.

Congrats again on a fantastic fish!!

Re: Berkley vanish problem???

IMHO Berkley Vanish is only suitable for bream and whiting.. I bought a spool of Vanish once for leader material and the number of lures I lost as a result (many to fish) has cost me dearly. No problems since switching to Seaguar FC as leader material.
