welcome aboard! As per Arpie's response, spend a bit more and get a newer model for the improvements in design. If you are after a skinny water sort of kayak, sit-in kayaks are fantastic, they usually weigh less and can carry heaps of weight capacity for their size due to the absence of scupper hole...

i bought one of the nories based on this post.. any tips on how to work it? cast, sink and retrieved?...vertical jig? Magic lure, you can vertical jig it fast or slow, cast and retrieve with no rod tip action (lure does a nice spoon swim thing) or jerk it through the water fast or sort of twitch it...

What is the shallowest you can slow jig? Does it have to hit the bottom before you start the lift? If jigging around the deeper channels here near the leases, there is a lot of timber & rubble down there that could get snagged quite easily ...... or the current will take you into the poles anyway! ...

I use the same setup as ShortyK with microjigs, I love them!! I use them a fair bit in the kayak but they are my only choice now in surf fishing

when I've taken Reloads through the surf I have used 2 piece rods and stored them in the front hatch. They are more secure in there as I have a tendency to wipe out in waves..

Hi mate, I've had a Mossy Back Loomis for a few years and it is a beautiful rod to use, it's the same as the one you are looking at but in Baitcast format. Those NRX rods are absolute beasts of things, you could overpower a shark with it! The split butt thing isn't a concern either, that's what rods...
