did you try to restore the factory settings on the head unit? i take it you have but i thought'd i'd just check :) Thanks for the input koji . Hi guys n gals I purchased a lowrance 4 chirp only 2-3 months ago and did the simple blu-tak ( plasticine ) transducer install . Unsure if you found a solution . I have the exact same kayak and sounder . I wanted to mount externally , but found the slot under the profish a little small . Thanks for the welcome and info mouse . Looks just what I am after , a decent upgrade without spending to much .
Not many places stock them but the local marine chandlery was happy to get one in for me .Hopefully have a new paddle on Monday .

Hey Wade I just went through the bs of installing a shoot-thru-transducer and a member on here (sorry cant remember his name ) swears blutack works well . I tried it and it worked fine .
