This is how Mangrove Jacks attack live baits ......

Check this out! Imagine if you had a live bait under float in 'Jack Country'!! The 'takes' would be spectacular, I reckon!

Such power - and I am amazed that he can manoeuvre around as well as he does!

cheers

Jacks are spawn of Satan!
That was awesome. In the wild, he'd be under that branch in a flash.

jacks are brutal, brutal fish. Very unforgiving on light gear and poor knots. But one of the biggest thrills u can have is catching a 50cm plus jack... :lek:

A good video, but I feel said for the fish in that small tank, it should be in the wild.

Anything that requires 100lb handline is going to smash you, they are the groper of estuaries. I've seen a video of a guy using 50lb braid and 80lb leader with a rod to match, he was playing tug of war with it the fish saw him, ran and within 3-4 seconds POP! all over. The Damn thing was only about low 60's

.... I feel said for the fish in that small tank, it should be in the wild.....

I agree, Sel - but people WILL have their pets - and you can say that about most pets!! :idiot: I reckon at the least, he should be in a tank that is twice as big - but as you can see, he still gets round that tank & thru the structure at reasonable speed & agility, given his size!

Check out some of the guy's other vids! The fish goes absolutely CRAZY when the dead mullet is waved in front of him ...... and the crayfish - he REALLY knows he is going to be fed - he gets SO excited!! :lek:

A buddy has a reasonable sized bass in a tank & he calls it his 'Fish Barometer' ....... if the fish is sulking under cover, it is not worth going fishing! If the fish is alert to ANYTHING going past (inside or outside the tank!) it is time to put a line out!! LOL I have a video of him somewhere that I've never put up before ..... I'll try & track it down!
