Yesterday had free some time with cooler weather so fitted the mast base to kayak.
Ive taken some detailed photos of how it went.
Surprisingly simple job.
This is the mast base, one piece sits below deck, the other above deck.
The below deck item acts as a support to strengthen the deck from flexing.
In this photo the top item goes under the deck, the bottom item is the base of the mast. The mast consists of 3 tubes which slide into each other. (Made of carbon fibre, mast, boom and the under deck support.)

This pic shows a reinforcing patch which is supplied with the sail kit. It has an adhesive backing and sticks to the hull.
I used a heat gun to warm it slightly for good adhesion

Mast base slides in on a dovetailed block. This entails first fitting a small block on the deck with 2 SS screws which connects to the under deck support arm.

Final pic in this series, more to come at a later date.
Here is mast and boom.
As mentioned, mast and boom is hollow carbon fibre tube which simply slide over themselves.

All up, if you were familiar with everything, the job in total would be no more than 30 minutes.
The patch is easy to fit.
The support underdeck post needs shortening with a haxsaw to get the right length, nothing difficult here.
Fitting the mast to deck is 2 small holes. I'll silicon seal the holes.
Boom just slides down over the mast.

Next job on another day will be to add the guy ropes to support thr mast.
I'll take pics and let you know.
