WANTED - Lowrance Elite 4 CHIRP Fishfinder/Plotter

#1 Post by Blaaahkey » Thu Jan 30, 2020 12:38 pm

Ahoy lads,

I’m looking for the above, mine stopped working and I replaced with it was a Lowrance Elite 4x CHIRP which I picked up cheap on Gumtree, but I’m really missing the Maps / GPS function which the 4x doesn’t have.

I don’t want to have to change my installation set up at the moment hence trying to find a straight replacement.

If anyone has one of these old things laying around that they want to get rid of send me a message.
Cheers
Blake

Dude, I'd just go with the replacement. For the amount of stuffing around, just go with the new sounder with the GPS function. Installation isn't such a big issue, depending on the kayak your installing it. If it's a sit in, just glue it in with Sikaflex 291 or Marine Goop or Sellys silicone (I forget the name ). If it's a sit on top, you must gain access into the hull and make sure you can get your hands into the inner, so you may glue the transducer into the hull. There are many posts on this forum how to install transducers. I for one, have posted a few.
Or go and see Rod and Owen at Yatala, @ Australian Kayak Specialists, to do a professional install.

Good luck.

Cheers, BobbyB.
