]Had a nice morning exploring the new public access area at NPD this morning on the kayak. Its a nice area until the wind shows its ugly face. Managed to land 43 bass with one 50cm and several close to it. I will be back for sure. I am keeping my lure choice a secret though.

Wow looks like it was a great day and the new access area produces the goods. I have never fished there and have to travel from Toowoomba so is there any weather tips you can give (wind direction to avoid). Are you casting at the edges mate or trolling that lure.?
Cheers KIM

Spinnerbaits cast to the edges usually works, crazydeep I look for water 20 to 25ft. This area is very open, so you need to check wind.Wind is usually low to star with so you use this to get to where you want to go, then make sure you have the right wind to bring you home. You dont want to be heading across the open water side on to large wind waves.

Looks like a great session... I have recenly bought the BAS permit for the other side so I will be concentrating my efforts over there, Just the sight at the carpark is enough to scare me off. No parks anywhere near the water,,, seems very popular but it is Christmas holidays ..

We also have a extension in the BAS permit area, from the ramp we have 4k upstream and 6k downstream, if fish cant be found in all that water its time to give it away.
