Some Bass out of the Timber @ Lake St Clair - 02/09/2018

#1 Post by pdfarrell » Mon Sep 03, 2018 7:22 am

Gday KFDUers,

Haven't posted a report for a while (shame on me!), so thought I better pull my finger out.

Headed to Lake St Clair on Sunday morning, and was on the water just as the sun was coming up.
Armed with new memory cards and power source for my camera, I hoped to be able to capture the whole session on video.
After some testing at home in the shed, I was confident that I could, as was eager to get some footage.

The morning started very slowly, and I was starting to think the morning was going to be a fizzer.
Was about 2 hours before I hooked my first fish.. and caught a few more after that, before having to head home to catch up with family for launch.

All fish were caught on Zman Slim Swimz, on 1/8oz jigheads. As you can see in the video, I focused on casting at timber.
The MD180 drive is pretty cool for this type of fishing... and will put up video showing how easy it was to "de-snag" myself in one instance.

Hope you enjoy the video as much as I enjoyed making it.

Great video Paul and I must admit it is a style of fishing I have never tried! Mostly considering I am hooked on the surface and exploring skinny waterways! Thanks for the report with bass season now underway! My day was slow as well in Saturday, managed ad few, report to come!

Cheers

Little clip of how handy the new MD180 drive is in and around the timber.
Got snagged up, and the ability to be able to reverse made lure retrieval a breeze.
(Slight language warning  )
