Nice Trout Cod

#1 Post by Rory222 » Sat May 25, 2019 9:31 pm

G’day all or few as it seems these days

Flicked spinnerbaits around this arvo for a few hours and picked up a couple of nice fish.

First up was a very nice Trout Cod at 58cm 😁😁😁

Followed up soon after with a nice little Murray around 50cm🙂

Was not too bad an afternoon with a few spots of rain but the sun was out in between showers. The water however is freezing. Winter is on its way 🥶.

Thanks for reading. Even more thanks if you reply😁😁😁

Very nice! That's a decent sized one too isn't it? They are smaller than the murrays?

Thanks guys.

From what I know 58cm is a pretty big Trout cod. Comments locally are that he/she is a very good size, and certainly the biggest I’ve caught. Most of my previous Trout cod have been around 20-30cm. Google says they go to 80-85cm so I’ll try catching this one again in a few years and see if I can crack the 80 mark 😉😁

It’s great to see such healthy fish especially with the troubles some rivers have had in recent times🙂

Cheers
