Bream on a Blade

#1 Post by Mjaydee » Wed Feb 06, 2019 5:07 pm

Hi again!

So, haven't had much of a chance to tak the Yak out for a while so I made a solid effort to get out over the weekend while the weather was good.

Was pretty misty & rather calm so off we headed to find some fish. Started off with a little excitement as I managed to have an unintentional swim whilst trying to retrieve a lost popper, right a s my mate hooked a decent fish! "Might need a hand here mate" followed by "Yep, as soon as I land this fish" - Gotta know you're priorities! Will be extra cautious next time!

Anyhow, after the little dip & my mate landing a decent bream, I somehow jagged myself a monster from around the local bridge, it pulled me left, it pulled me right...Talk about excitement!

So anyhow, this is my first one on a blade, first fish on this rod & first time I've come out of the Yak unintentionally - So a great day of firsts!

The day progressed a little slower after those early fish with only some sporatic hits as we drifted around the shallows.

I did manage one last bream on my go-to Soft Plastic, the 2.5" Zman Grub in Motor Oil..Old Trusty!

All in all, a great day out!

Forgot to mention, all fish happily released ready for next time.

Good job, took me years to get a Bream on a Blade. Oddly thats what they were made for. I caught Whiting, Ludderick, flathead but Bream mostly eluded me. Got a few since then but still not many.

Yeah, good effort and nice fish. Pity about the dip, though! Easy enough to do sometimes.

Cheers mate. Yeah I’ve been lure fishing for a little while with very limited success, pretty happy that I’ve finally cracked one on something other than a grub.

Onward & upward!

Thanks mate. Yeah caught me by surprise but had to happen eventually. I proved I can re-enter so I guess that’s a positive. Will work harder to avoid it lol
