Hi,
I've installed an electrical bilge pump in my SOT kayak. Just wondering if anyone has any opinions/experience on the different types of hand bilge pumps available.
I'm trying to decide between one that looks similar to a yabby pump but bigger inlets and outlets (2 hand operation), and one that looks like the flush mechanism for a porta-potty (Fix to body of kayak for single hand operation- diaphragm pump).
Any advice would be appreciated:)

"Sea to summit" pump from Anaconda is currently on sale. It does everything needed, self floating, bright in colour, high pumping rate

Re: Hand Bilge Pump Type?
I added some 1" clear plastic tubing (with angled end to get to the bottom of the hull) to my Hobie manual bilge pump, and then added this fitting in one of the drink holders. When the pump is inserted, the hole is basically sealed, and pumping sends the water overboard.

This is important if the water level in the hull is higher than the normal hatches, as the pump will not keep up with the water ingress.
