Bassin in the rain?

#1 Post by Ramjet » Fri Nov 30, 2018 8:35 pm

Newby question. I got caught in the rain today while out for a fish.
Bass fishing in the rain. Yes or no? If yes than what types of lure. Surface or divers? I thought the rain drops may interfere with the noise that surface lures make. Also there were still large drops falling from trees after the rain left.
Oh yeah... got a strike on the 3rd or 4th cast and that was it. Bugger. I was exploring a new spot which I think is not often fished. Only way to get there is by yak and lots of overhanging trees and dead trees in the water. . Lots of fish action with bait fish jumping and pretty impressive bow waves of many bigger fish. Got some on video and I'll edit it and post it.

Thanks :-)

I find the first day of rain is usually productive, also little movement in the flow brings them on.If in doubt stick to spinnerbaits and beetlespins.

Fish while you can.
I am not a bass addict but I am very fond of them
