I am rigging a couple of new rods to fish out deep. What line would you use?

I've only used braid of various brands. I've found Suffix 832 metred quite good. A bit x-ey but performs well. Don't think I've ever used Dacron before, except for fly reel backing.

Time spent on reconnaissance is time never wasted.

Dacron braid is cotton and eventually rots unless your after a igfa record I wouldn't worry about it. look for pe braid stands for poly ethelene and is a man made fiber that has superior abrasion resistance to Dacron. also wash the real after every use the salt water dries and leaves behind salt crystals that eventualy cut the line and will pop under load
