I,m a maybe. Too many changes at work happening this year. Supposedly going onto a new roster but the management I work for could not run a choko vine over a shxt house so I just have to wait and see. Should know one way or the other by end of August. Gaz

Please see attached entry forms for the Cod Classic and the entry for the Kayak Division. Don't forget to add TEAM YAK FISHER to your main entry form.

Many thanks Pat. Paper copies also arrived in the mail at home today.

Interesting to note that the current comp setup will still be using marshalls as per last year. I wonder if they will be looking to change across to the new NSW reg's for cod this year? Text below if from the latest NSW DPI Fisher FAQ factsheet. Given that all of the cod we will catch this year (I reckon at least 4 each... in each session) will all be over 80cm, it might be wise to make sure the cameras are charged up and ready to fire. Tony B might drop us a post on how he sees it working out this year.

Cheers, Damo

"Will the new maximum size limit for Murray Cod affect fishing competitions?

The new recreational fishing rule changes will affect some Murray Cod catch and release fishing competitions that currently require Cod to be recorded at weigh-in stations. Under the new rules, anglers will not be permitted
to travel to weigh stations with large live Murray Cod over the 80 cm maximum size limit for weighing and subsequent release. An option for competitions that have Murray Cod as a target species is to apply photo
validation, whereby the fish are immediately measured, photographed and then released. The photograph of the fish on a brag mat, together with a unique daily token, can be used to formally record the length of
the fish for the competition. This process will also have the benefit of reducing stress to the fish and improving the survival of the released Murray Cod. DPI is able to assist all major Murray Cod fishing competition organisers with the implementation of any revised competition formats associated with the new rules. More information on fishing competition formats and best practices can be found at http://www.dpi.nsw.gov.au/fisheries/rec ... management"

G'day Boys & Girls

Great to see the interest shown once again for the 2014 Cod Classic. Thanks heaps to Pat for putting up the links to both entry forms.

Most importantly, remember when you enter put "Team Yak Fishers" in the "Club" section on the Cod Classic entry form.

This year promises to be bigger and better than the past few year with the addition of either a Ford XR6 or Ford Ranger to the prize pool.

If there is anything else I can be of assistance with from this end - sing out.

Look forward to seeing you all here again.

Cheers Tony Bennett, Cod Classic Event Director

Hi Guys, can you take me off the list for attending, sorry to be a pain but having just broken three ribs I am going to be behind on a lot of other things. You all have a good time now.
