Cod Classic 2014 - Camping Options.
Ok guys I have sorted some camping options for this years 2014 Cod Classic.
DC on the Lake. Where we camped last year. 2 options.
1. Powered site for campers and tents etc. showers etc in a block close by the sites. $25 per person per night. Book your site direct with Amanda on 03 5744 1393.
2. Cabin. I have booked and paid the deposit on 1 cabin right at the top of the ramp. Booked Thursday till Wednesday (week rate) Room for 5-6 blokes. Another cabin is available next door so still at top of ramp. These cabins go for $240 a night in Dec but we can have a weekly rate of $100 a night. Brand new cabins with AC and big verandah overlooking the lake at top of ramp. Pm me if your interested in sharing a cabin and I will make arrangements. See pics.
Next door is Kyffins Reserve. Bush camping. No amenities. Free no cost. Available if that's your thing. Be warned that this year is later in Dec and it can be +40c out here then so it's the luck of the draw guys.
Cabin 1 residents. I will update as news comes in.

Tempted to cabin it, its a long haul from the South Coast towing the camper trailer......
But....
Snoring would probably see me dragged outside during the night and dropped in the lake...

Kyffins Reserve also has the habit of catching on fire as a result of poorly maintained camp fires... the last thing the local RFS need on a 30 degree plus day.

Not much timber left there to burn Damo lol. A tornado went through the place last year. Good advice though. It gets bloody hot down there. 2 years ago we had a 45 degree day down there. Still 30 degrees at midnight. Long drink that night. Too hot to sleep.Damo_Mc wrote:Kyffins Reserve also has the habit of catching on fire as a result of poorly maintained camp fires... the last thing the local RFS need on a 30 degree plus day.

And then we had that bloody storm come through with wind and horizontal rain, my camper windows were up and I got soaked and froze..... and hours before it was broiling.... bloody confused.... luck of the draw is right Pete..... doesn't look like Im going to make it guys. Work is rearing its ugly head again and a lil ones wedding will only just be done and dusted at that point....Gazzaguru wrote:Not much timber left there to burn Damo lol.
